April 24th, 5:30pm - 7:30pm

U15-U19(Birth year 2010 - 2006)

April 25th, 5:30pm - 7:30pm

Makeup Date

April 28th, 2:00pm - 4:00pm

LOCATION

All tryouts will be held on the on the upper and lower practice fields at William Monroe High School.

Please park in the parking lot behind the high school and registration/check-in will be set up in a gravel area adjacent to the parking lot.

REGISTRATION

Tryouts have concluded and registration is closed for the Fall 24 and Spring 25 seasons.

RESULTS

Coaches will meet following tryouts to discuss the results and to start figuring out what teams we will be able to field for the Fall '24season.

You should expect to receive notification of your players status by mid-May.

We are requesting that all parents be prepared to respond with you commitment by May 30, 2024.

What age groups are included in tryouts?

Tryouts will be held for both boys and girls, age groups U11 through U19.

Which age group is my player?

Age groups are based on the year each player is born and has nothing to do with school grade or what month they were born in.

U11 – 2014
U12 – 2013
U13 – 2012
U14 – 2011
U15 – 2010
U16 – 2009
U17 – 2008
U18 – 2007
U19 - 2006

What do I need to bring to tryouts?

Athletic shoes (soccer cleats recommended), shin guards, water and a good attitude. A soccer ball is encouraged, but not required.

What happens during and after tryouts?

Players who attend tryouts will be assessed based on their soccer skills, knowledge of the game and their attitude. Following tryouts, coaches will determine eligibility of players and each player will receive either a letter of invitation to register and join GFC for the respective age group of that player or if determined ineligible, they will receive a letter stating that they did not qualify for GFC.

What happens if my player is not selected to join a GFC travel team?

The Greene County Parks and Recreation program has a fantastic soccer program that does not require tryouts. If your player is not selected to join a GFC travel team, we strongly encourage and support participation in the Greene County recreation soccer program. Greene's local recreation programs are well run and offer a great place to develop your young soccer player's skills and understanding of the game.
